Futures are looking bright at Lakeside ABA!

My son is doing amazing in an eight-student autism classroom, started assent-based ABA therapy, and has a couple kiddos who call him a friend!! Next month he will start play therapy to help with his trauma history, and soon after I will be in individual therapy to help me cope better.
ABA helped him to move from level 3 autism to a solid footing on level 2.
I am eternally grateful for what ABA therapy did for us.
My husband and I went on a date for the first time in two years last month, all because of these amazing ABA people.
Now, she is able to talk about her emotions and advocate for herself when she doesn't like whats happening and control her aggression, and instead of hitting someone when she is upset, she will remove herself to a safe space.
My son started ABA right after his 3rd birthday in May. We have had an amazing experience, and it keeps getting better. His team are constantly telling us how well he is doing and how fast he is mastering his lessons. I highly recommend ABA, and the earlier the better.
I have 7-year-old twins. We had them in OT and Speech from about 1.5 years to 3, and saw very minimal results.
They were in half day ABA at first, went to full time. We saw huge leaps and gains during this time. Speech finally began. Awareness outside of themselves began. Bad behaviors decreased over time. They were able to potty train. They graduated out of ABA and went into an autism-specialty 1st grade class. For us, ABA worked. Before ABA I was not sure my children would ever speak. And now we have conversations. Still limited, but any communication is better than where we were.

FAQs

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a scientific approach to understanding and changing behavior. ABA therapy involves using techniques and principles to encourage positive behaviors while reducing unwanted behaviors. It is widely used to support individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders, helping them improve communication, social skills, and daily living skills.

BA therapy works by observing and analyzing behavior patterns, then implementing strategies to reinforce desirable behaviors and reduce harmful or maladaptive ones. Therapists use positive reinforcement, such as praise or rewards, to encourage behaviors and may also use strategies like prompting, modeling, and shaping to teach new skills. Therapy is highly individualized, with programs tailored to the specific needs of each client.

ABA therapy can benefit individuals of all ages, from toddlers to adults. However, it is most commonly used with children, especially those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), to help them develop essential skills. Early intervention is often the most effective, but ABA strategies can be applied to individuals at any age, depending on their unique needs and goals.

The timeline for seeing results with ABA therapy can vary depending on the individual, their goals, and the intensity of the therapy. Some children may show significant improvements in communication, social skills, and behavior within a few months, while others may require longer-term therapy. Consistent, intensive therapy tends to lead to the best outcomes, but progress is always individualized.

While ABA therapy is most commonly used for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), it can also be effective for individuals with other developmental, behavioral, or mental health challenges. ABA techniques can help with behaviors related to ADHD, anxiety, and other conditions, as well as support individuals in learning new skills and behaviors in a variety of contexts.

To get started with ABA therapy, contact us to schedule an initial consultation. During this consultation, we will assess your needs, gather relevant information, and develop a personalized treatment plan. We work closely with families to ensure the therapy is tailored to each individual's goals, and we'll guide you through the process of scheduling sessions, working with a therapist, and tracking progress.
